At Magnolia Affairs, we believe your wedding planning journey should be just as magical as your big day. When you work with us, you’ll collaborate directly with Karina, the owner, who will guide you through every step of the planning process with expertise, creativity, and a passion for bringing your vision to life. We take a team-oriented, collaborative approach, working closely with all of your wedding vendors to ensure a seamless experience. On weekends we don’t have our own weddings, you can often find us assisting other vendors—including florists and photographers—which gives us a deeper understanding of their needs and helps us create a more cohesive event. When the wedding weekend arrives, our dedicated team of wedding day assistants will join me onsite to flawlessly execute every detail, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the joy of your celebration. We believe the best weddings happen when everyone works together, and we are honored to be part of your unforgettable journey.
Hi, Im Karina Crockett, a wedding planner originally from New Hampshire, with a wealth of experience in crafting unforgettable weddings across the East Coast including New Hampshire, Georgia, Maine, and Massachusetts. I hold a degree in Communications, with a specialization in business management and special events from Rivier University. I also accidentally ended up minoring in English Lit. I began my career organizing fundraising events for non-profit organizations, which ignited her passion for event planning. Looking back, my passion for planning events was evident early as the head of every sports and field-trip fundraising group. After making the decision to focus on weddings I moved to Hilton Head to pursue wedding planning full-time. I worked as an "in-house" planner for a venue and catering company for a few years - an invaluable experience that gave me a great understand of events but also the needs of other vendors. I started Magnolia Affairs in 2018 planning weddings in South Carolina's beautiful Low Country with the goal of focusing on the details to reflect the couples love story. My husband’s dream job brought us to Nantucket in 2019. I instantly fell in love with the charm of the island and began crafting memorable celebrations here. After a few years of planning all over we welcomed our baby girl in 2024 and am now a year-round island resident now exclusively planning events on Nantucket.
With a strong background in catering and venue management, Karina creates personalized, seamless wedding experiences that bring couples' visions to life. She’s especially skilled at diving into the details that make each event unique, from designing custom backdrops to adding special touches like a hidden Mickey for a couple who met at Disney.
When she’s not busy planning weddings, Karina enjoys exploring Nantucket's beautiful coastline — often by boat or driving out to Great Point. She and her family welcomed baby Zoey to their lives in June 2024, and she’s already a little Nantucket islander, loving the water, the waves, and hanging out at Cisco.
