Divine Details

May 22, 2018

Today I am in love with the small details that make a wedding your wedding. These small touches can add big impact or they can be super sentimental and only a few people even know they are part of your day. Either way... they are so important in making your wedding truly yours... and well... besides getting married that is what the day is all about.. right?!

The first detail Im in love with: the rings!

The rings are one of the first personalized items of your wedding. Whether you pick out your own ring or your fiance picks it out for you and surprises you with a super romantic proposal, your ring is yours!

Add an engraving when picking out wedding bands (below) to make it super personalized! Next step is to find a super cute personalized ring box (like this one) to get the perfect detail photo!

I love hearing the proposal stories and how the ring was picked out! It is a question that I always ask my couples. In fact- its is a question in their bridal packet because most magazines require it when you submit a wedding to be featured. I guess I am not the only one that loves to hear the story! My hubby created a fake Pinterest page so he could look at the styles I liked. I (unknowingly) had pinned a couple from the same designer so he found out the jewelry stores that carried that designer locally and then worked with them to custom design it! He sure set high standards for himself for the rest of our marriage!

Oh how I love personalized hair pieces. I am not a huge vail fan - mostly because beach weddings have cause more vail issues for me than fabulous moments. This is not true, however, if you are like #Meganmarkle and getting married at a fabulous castle.  Oh My Gosh guys did you see her vail- swoon worthy! If you are getting married at a Southern Plantation with limited wind- also a great location. On the beach- stick with the fabulous hair pieces! Add flowers for a fresh look that matches your bouquet or add a vintage heirloom that also happens to double as your "something old." Both are absolutely fabulous and will not blow out of your hair should you choose a beach wedding.

OK- I could go on and on about fabulous place settings for years but I will probably lose you. So here are a few of my favorites and why. First (top left) Farmhouse tables with blush and greenery will always be a love of mine. I dont care if I do 1000 blush gold weddings. I LOVE IT. Here blush lamour napkins are hand tied with ribbon on top of gold beaded charges. A matching runner over the                                    farmhouse table makes the rustic table and X-Back chairs more soft and elegant. The table on the top right has so many personalized details - it to this day has been one of my favorite weddings to plan. Rather than traditional table numbers the couple chose to do places that were significant to them. They had either been to these places or were planning on traveling there during their honeymoon- sigh- if only we could all tour Europe for our honeymoons. They choose a sparkle lace overlay with similar patterns to the brides dress to bring an elegant look to this water side reception. For their assigned place settings names were hand tied onto cotton stems- hello southern elegance!

(Bottom left)  Hello ocean side! The majority of weddings I do either occur on a southern plantation or on an island- so of course we are going to incorporate some ocean theme. I love the place settings with custom engraved sea glass. We then used sea glass to create a runner down the center of the family seating styled table. Add on a sea side inspired menu and wavy calligraphy to match and you have the perfect Hilton Head destination wedding! Oh did I mention this wedding was 20 people and at a rental home where all the guests stayed on the beach! They stayed for a week turning the wedding location into the honeymoon! So smart and relaxing! This small-destination wedding is now referred to as a micro-wedding...

but these awesome humans from Boston did it before it was cool! Another cool medium to personalize your place setting- Magnolia leaves. Nothing says southern elegance like Magnolia!
